Holton Parish Council Vacancy for Parish Councillor

There is a vacancy on Holton Parish Council due to the resignation of Andy Murray. Andy’s valued and important contributions to the workings of the Parish Council will be greatly missed.

The Vacancy has been advertised on the Notice Boards for the required Notice period and can be seen on the Parish Council website. If no Election is called by 4th November 2026 the vacancy will be filled by co-option.

Any resident of the village of Holton is eligible to put their name forward to the Parish Council for co-option. Any new co-opted member serves until May 2027 when Parish Elections are called, along with District Council Elections.

A good opportunity to only commit for 5 months and test the water!!

Holton Traffic Volume and Speed Checks

Speed surveys were carried out in September by Oxfordshire County Council Highways in two locations in Holton – one between Warren Farm bend and the village green (Site 1) and one between the village hall and the village green (Site 2). Both areas recorded an average speed of 25 mph and an average flow at Site 1 during a 5-day 24 hour period of 626 vehicles and Site 2 of 475 vehicles

Copies of the survey are available and can be emailed on request.

The next Parish Council Meeting will be held on Monday 9th November 2026 starting at 7.15 pm in Holton Village Hall Committee Room.
